The project "HACK YOUR HOME“ was developed by Marcel Tarelkin during his residency at NAC in 2018. It’s an ongoing playful process of creating different objects/furniture by using the materials of standard Ikea furniture. These objects are balancing between the categories of sculpture and furniture, useability and nonsense. There is a set of rules for how to do this reconstruction with the aim that the new objects are design them selves out of these rules. The "HACK YOUR HOME" project wants to expand the concept of traditional furniture use, to play with the conventional understanding of furniture and to find the point where furniture becomes sculpture and vice versa.
